Using the Anchor Tag

HTML uses the <a> (anchor) tag to create links to other documents. These links are sometime referred to as (hyperlink or web link). They also provide a way to link other web resources like images, audio, etc. To the right, observe three different types of links and what makes them different.

Globl Links:

To construct a global link you must use the anchor tag <a> with the attribute href="location of the html file", and content or an image like the example below.

Notice the target attribute is used. It's used in this case to link to a document and display it to a blank or new window.
